Living in these times of rising Islamophobia and the notion that Muslims or Islam are not compatible with Humain principles. It became important for Muslim-Americans (and Muslims all over the world) to be given a chance to showcase thier past along with present contributions to the global society. With the negative notion that Muslim are far behind in innovation, we felt compelled to show the true fact. Manu muslim today are great achiever and innovators. Including the fact that values to contribute to global society like to live normal lives, raise their kids, send them to school, and are positive forces within their communities. Most live their lives as every day citizens while proudly adhering to their Islamic beliefs and principles. SAFI QURESHEY, Chairman.
He is Co-founder and former Chairman and CEO of AST Research, Inc. AST began in his garage, and he took it public in 1984. AST Research had over 6,000 employees and sales of over $2.5 billion. It was a Fortune 500 company and ranked as one of the ten largest personal computer manufacturers in the world before it was acquired by Samsung Electronics in 1997.

Mr. Qureshey has over 21 years of investment experience. He built venture capital relationships with prominent funds while forming and building AST and while privately investing. For example, he was a founding investor, together with Kleiner Perkins, Sequoia Capital, Trinity Ventures and St. Paul Venture Capital, in NextCard (NASDAQ: NXCD) which was a $300 million IPO. He was director and investor in Powerwave (NASDAQ: PWAV), Autofusion and Nexgenix. He is a former member of President Clinton?s Export Counsel, a former Regent?s professor at the University of California, Irvine, and founding member and former President of the Southern California chapter of TiE (The Indus Entrepreneurs). Mr. Qureshey is also founder and CEO of Quartics, Inc., a venture funded wireless media semiconductor startup. His deep understanding and vision of current technology trends is a valuable addition to his investment relationships, and his ability to leverage this insight in due diligence and technology investment fund selection is key to the success of the Fund.
